Lexmark lowers earnings forecast

Two weeks before its earnings announcement, Lexmark International yesterday cut its second-quarter earnings forecast and offered a bleak outlook for its third quarter. The company attributed the change to its inkjet division, which has struggled since the latter half of 2005. Contributing to yesterday's revision were a decline in the sales of ink cartridges and reduced prices for inkjet hardware.
